I'm just back in the Kiewa Valley in North East Victoria from a wonderful few weeks in Mongolia where I have been leading a trek in the far west of Mongolia. To be back out there in that environment blew away the cobwebs, kind of the annual homecoming to a world without fences, endless peaks, horses, and a people who are tied to their animals, not iphones, computers, and 9-5 schedules.
I was also fortunate to spend time with the Royal Geographic Society in Hong Kong providing a presentation, and most recently, the New Zealand Mountain Film festival in Wanaka.
I will write more about my experiences later. It has been a treat today to see my Sydney Writers Festival talk with Benjamin Law on ABC1's Big Ideas program!
