Freycinet Peninsula Kayak Expedition
Join adventurers and guides, Toby Story and Tim Cope for a unique paddle and hiking journey on Tasmania’s spectacular Freycinet Peninsula. Arguably the site of one of Australia’s most iconic national parks, Freycinet is renowned for its turquoise water, white sandy beaches and secret coves framed by dramatic granite mountains. On this very special journey you will be paddling to Schouten Island, exploring the remote eastern coastline, and hiking to Mt Freycinet, the highest point on the peninsula. The peninsula itself is part of the traditional lands of the Toorernomairremener people. It was here that the people overwintered, harvesting the rich array of shellfish and sea vegetables.
Our journey will include a special welcome to country ceremony, in which we will be given an introduction to the history and culture of Tasmania’s first peoples.
$50 of your trip payment will be donated to the Bob Brown foundation to support a campaign to protect the cultural and natural values of the Takayana (Tarkine) region.
