Orkhon River Expedition
The Orkhon valley has been sacred for millennia amongst nomads who always believed that he who ruled the Orkhon valley was ordained by God. As a result the Orkhon became the seat of power for the Mongol Empire, and was the site of numerous other empire capitals.
On this journey we will be canoeing down the Orkhon River through iconic olive green steppe and deep cut gorges. We will have the opportunity to see and experience the so called ‘five-animal’ herding way of life (horse, goats, cattle, camels, and sheep). Enquire for a customised journey down the Orkhon.
